| licks as in solo licks or licks as in riffs? Because if you want riffs go with something like Unholy Confessions. But if you want solo lick, just play around in Ionian and switch to Pentatonic Minor. My main impress lick goes D, Bm, Dm, D. | |

| There are two ways to impress guitarists, and it depends on how long THEY have been playing. Because for the first couple years, speed is everything. It's not good unless it's fast. But as you mature as a guitarist, you realize that speed is pretty much nothing. The more you mature the more you come to appreciate well thought out or unique solos. Solos that focus more on evoking emotions or trying to almost communicate with the listeners. | |

| Oh then just play Triads in Major and Relative Minor. Sweep picking/arpeggios are also a plus. | |

| It's basically the same thing as arpeggios except you go up and back down and then change the intervals one at a time. You don't have to play it extremely fast or anything. | |
